How to play

  • The game ends when stacked blocks reach the top of the board.

About this game

Tetris is the puzzle game that defined an era. Seven distinct piece shapes — the "tetrominoes" (I, O, T, S, Z, J, L) — fall one at a time from the top of a 10-wide by 20-tall grid. Your job is to slot each piece so that horizontal lines fill completely across; those lines vanish and your score climbs.

As your score grows, pieces fall faster, the board gets denser with awkward leftovers, and decisions tighten. The skill is in seeing several pieces ahead and keeping a tidy stack — beginners try to clear single lines as soon as possible; experienced players hold gaps open deliberately to set up four-row "Tetris" clears (which score four times as much). It's an endlessly replayable five-minute game.
