About this game
Memory Match is a classic card-pairing game that trains short-term memory and pattern recognition. The board is a 4×4 grid of sixteen cards arranged in eight animal-emoji pairs — dog, cat, frog, tiger, lion, fox, cow, panda — shuffled into random positions on each new round.
The challenge is to clear the board in the fewest flips. Each unmatched pair costs you nothing on the scoreboard but burns a little working memory, and humans only hold five to seven items in working memory at a time. The skill is in chunking: instead of remembering every card individually, you remember pairs of positions for cards you've already seen but haven't yet matched. Children get good at it fast; adults can usually win in under thirty flips with a few rounds of practice.
